Emma Blue
who shall remain invisible.
…except for an occasional verse, or two:
Nevada, Las Vegas Review-Journal
Emma Blue
On the very first day of the month of June,
Twenty-four hours after a rare blue moon,
Emma Judith, a bright twinkling star, was born
At seven: seventeen past the hour of noon.
Cosmological signs should give a good clue,
Baby eyes even more, a bright colored hue,
Why pink bands, pink dresses, and roses adorn
A newborn child Pop-pop calls: Emma Blue.
Emma Blue, Emma Blue, by God’s Spirit hewn,
Named Emma Judith, two girls’ spirits to imbue:
Aunt Judith, Grandpa’s sister we never knew,
And Emma, a child of good charm: Emma Blue.
Proud Pop-pop
